The early impact pressure is close to an analytical reference

Edited research brief

Model the beginning of a rock impact and compare the resulting shock with an analytical reference.

RESULT AND LIMITS

The early-impact model produces a peak shock pressure close to the analytical reference, while the final crater remains outside the calculation.

The calculation covers the initial impact rather than the final crater. It does not validate the complete impact process.
