Privacy notice

This notice explains how we handle information when you visit the Laplace website or ask about early access.

Who operates this website

Laplace is operated by LinkedOtter LLC. For this website and its early-access enquiries, LinkedOtter LLC is responsible for the personal information described here.

Information you choose to share

The early-access form asks for your name, email address, organisation or affiliation, and research question. We store the submission with an internal record identifier and the date it was received. If you contact us separately, we also receive the information you include in that correspondence.

You can browse without submitting the form. The requested fields are needed to submit an early-access enquiry; there is no obligation to join. Please provide a high-level description only. Do not include confidential project material, patient information, passwords or other sensitive personal information.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to assess early-access interest, understand the requested use case, and contact you about that request and relevant access arrangements. Submitting the form does not sign you up for a newsletter.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries you initiate and operating a secure website, where those interests are permitted by applicable law. We consider those interests alongside your rights. You can ask us to close your enquiry or stop related contact at any time.

Website operation and abuse prevention

Vercel hosts the website and handles the form endpoint. Requests necessarily reach its infrastructure with connection information, including an IP address. Hosting and infrastructure providers may maintain operational or security logs under their service arrangements.

Our form endpoint converts the IP address into a keyed, pseudonymous identifier before sending it to the private storage service. That identifier is used in temporary abuse-prevention counters. The form also checks an empty spam-trap field and the time elapsed since it was opened. These controls help reject automated or excessive submissions.

Our application code does not log form contents or send the raw IP address to the waitlist storage Worker. This does not mean that infrastructure providers keep no logs.

Where information is handled

Form submissions pass through the Vercel endpoint to a private, Sites-managed Cloudflare Worker and D1 database. Authorised operators use the service's authenticated administrative tools to review the records. The website has no public list or export of applicants.

Hosting and service providers process information to operate this flow. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to address misuse or protect legal rights. We do not publish your enquiry as part of the research demonstrations.

Service-provider processing may take place outside your country. Contact us for information about the processing locations and transfer arrangements relevant to your request.

How long we keep information

Enquiry retention depends on whether the request is still active, whether further contact is reasonably expected, and any need to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute. Retention and deletion are reviewed manually; the current waitlist does not automatically delete applicant records on a fixed schedule. You can request deletion or ask us to close your enquiry.

Abuse-prevention counters have short expiry windows and are cleared in bounded batches as new submissions arrive. Hosting logs and backups may follow the relevant provider's separate retention arrangements.

Your choices and rights

Contact privacy@linkedotter.com to ask about your information, correct your enquiry, close it, or request deletion. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to access, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy. Some rights depend on the processing basis and may be subject to exceptions.

We may need proportionate information to verify a request before releasing or changing records. If applicable, you can complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location or our processing. If any future activity relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Browser storage and changes

The site does not currently integrate advertising or third-party analytics tracking. Display preferences may be saved in your browser, as described in Cookies & storage. Our application does not track browsing activity across other companies' websites and does not change its behaviour in response to browser Do Not Track signals. The infrastructure processing described above still occurs.

We publish changes to this notice on this page and update the date above. For a material change to how we use enquiry information, we will also provide a prominent website notice or contact affected people where appropriate, and obtain any permission required before a new use.

Children's information

The website and early-access form are intended for professional and research audiences and are not directed to children under 13. Please do not submit personal information about children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact privacy@linkedotter.com so we can investigate and delete it as required by applicable law.
